Welcome to the online portfolio of artist Annie Bissett.

Most of the fine art works on paper you'll find here are woodblock prints made in the traditional Japanese way, called moku hanga or ukiyo-e. Completely hand made on fine Japanese papers, these woodcuts are created in small limited editions of 5 to 15 per design. I began making woodblock prints in 2005 after a nearly 20-year career as a commercial digital illustrator. Although the prints are painstakingly created using traditional Japanese methods, my subject matter is entirely contemporary and American. I tend to make work about socio-political issues and ideas.

In addition to my fine art work, I'm also available for illustration commissions, book covers and other projects. Please feel free to contact me if you have an idea about how we can work together.
