ARTWORK > 48 Days

I had a lot of hope but also anxiety in the weeks leading up to the 2024 election. Seeking something to do with all that energy, I decided to make images of the major news stories during the 48 days that remained until election day. Making woodblock prints would have been way too slow for such a project, so I chose to make drawings. I used pink, blue and yellow highlighter pens to simulate cyan, magenta and yellow printing inks and traced over screen captures of various newsworthy events. The inks are fugitive so they will fade over time, which I realized was very appropriate for depicting these pre-election political events.
