The NY Times did a deeply affecting story in the spring of 2023 about the investigators who worked the Sandy Hook crime scene. After reading about how the investigators handled the children’s belongings, the old stuffed bear on the shelf in my studio suddenly looked different to me. I put out a call on Instagram for objects people had from their childhood and began this series of woodblock prints.
