Relieved of Duty
Air Force General Timothy D. Haugh was U.S. Cyber Command Commander and National Security Agency Director when he was abruptly fired by Donald Trump on April 4, 2025. Also fired was Haugh’s civilian NSA deputy Wendy Noble.
Neither the White House nor the Pentagon provided any reason for the firing, but far-right activist and (very) unofficial Trump advisor Laura Loomer seemed to take credit for the firing on X. She wrote:
“Given the fact that the NSA is arguably the most powerful intel agency in the world, we cannot allow for a Biden nominee to hold that position. Thank you President Trump for being receptive to the vetting materials provided to you and thank you for firing these Biden holdovers.”
She went on to indicate that Haugh had ties to Gen. Mark A. Milley, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, whom Trump loathes and has repeatedly accused of disloyalty.
This drawing is a record of Haugh’s 34 years of service.
