In the first few months of Trump’s second term he and Pete Hegseth fired a number of top brass in all branches of the service. I selected seven of these fired individuals to highlight the various types of firings — those that had to do with perceived loyalty, those that had to do with race and gender, those that were driven by people outside the administration such as Laura Loomer.

I chose to render "service ribbon portraits" of these fired admirals and generals, because their service ribbons are literally a portrait of their long and distinguished military careers. In my opinion, all of the firings have to do with the fact that many top members of this administration are intimidated if not infuriated by competence.
